Almost all fruits, from all climates, thrive in Mexico and they are the basis of the country’s original and colourful confectionery which has both traditional and European influences.
Mango slices in La Costeña syrup are particularly tasty and are suitable for desserts, mousses, or as fillings for crepes. La Costeña Ate (fruit pastes) made from Mango, Quince or Guava can be used in the simplest, yet satisfying, desserts (fruit salads, filling for sweets and cakes) and as the basis for sweet and spicy sauces, and for cooking.
TIP: Cut the paste into bite-sized chunks and serve with small chunks of sweet yellow cheese.
